Palanzo, the breathtaking view

Il sole 24ore writes “In villages, tourism is slow and conscious”.

In recent years we have increasingly promoted and had a high response on tourism interested in destinations such as small villages. Villages that are keeping their cultural heritage alive where contact with the people has become an integral part of the expected holiday experience.

We cannot fail to mention the hamlet of Palanzo, which is about 600 metres above sea level, making it one of the highest villages on Lake Como and certainly one of the richest in the past and in evidence of life and work. Built around an ancient hamlet, the village retains its medieval structure characterised by stone alleys, the remains of an ancient castle and ancient churches.

Close contact with nature through agriculture and animal husbandry, symbolised by a gigantic 16th century wine press that is well worth a visit.
